This is the ANZAC ceremony at The Armidale School (TAS) 2010.
For me ANZAC day is about respect for individuals. I could fill up many dinner parties with diatribes about war/politics/resources. But today is about the people that offered up their lives so that I could live the life I have today. Commemorating the service of ANZACs from World World 1 to today. We thank you, Lest We Forget. As part of the Armidale Autumn Festive the Armidale Cycling Club held the Hutchinson and Harlow Real Estate Autumn Festival Criterium. This was held in the Armidale CBD and was a great spectator venue as cyclists from the Armidale, Coffs Harbour, Inverell, and Tamworth clubs competed.
Saumarez homestead is a 30 room Edwardian mansion complete with original furnishings and beautiful gardens. It is open weekends and public holidays 10am-5pm, with fascinating guided tours. It is 5-10 min drive from Armidale, you drive into the airport and then past the airport carpark, following the signs to the homestead.

The falls drop 120m and there are wonderful viewing platforms. One of the platforms is right over the top of the falls and only 300m walk from the parking lot. Accessible and beautiful. There is a good camping area also.
Armidale has a range of childrens playgrounds where your little ones can let off steam.
The one pictured here is curtis park.
Armidale - a summer's afternoon in the St Peter's Anglican Cathedral grounds.
Central Park Armidale in a balmy summers evening.
While sitting on this bench, a few couples walk hand in hand down to Armidale Restaurants. The congregation leaves the evening mass. I watch the dappled light move across the well kept lawn.
We thought Armidale was a dry place. We had travelled through the New England tablelands of NSW before moving here. Our impression was of vast expanses with dry yellow paddocks and rocky outcrops.
In recent times however it has had its fair share of rain. Large volume, consistent rain over a 2-3 day period.
Get your watertanks set up and take advantage of these events and you are your garden will be fine.
Found another Armidale gem today. The Blue Hole, located in the Oxley Wild
Rivers National Park, 16kms from Armidale along the Castledoyle Road.
Another great picnic area and walking trails, but the main attraction is
the swimming holes.
